Islamic Relief is an international relief and development charity founded in 1984 with its headquarters in Birmingham, UK. As well as responding to disasters and emergencies, Islamic Relief promotes sustainable economic and social development by working with local communities – regardless of race, religion or gender.

The office officially started its operation in Ethiopia in 2004. Islamic Relief Ethiopia (IRE) is operational in the Somali Regional State with a base office in Hargelle, Elkere, Bare and Dekasuftu, Afar Regional State; Ewa and Gulina, Oromia Regional State; Borena, Chiro and Meayso and an additional operational office in Addis Ababa.

1: Logistics Assistant

Skill and educational background

Diploma in Management/Purchasing and supplies management or related fields.
2 years of experience in logistics management preferably in development organizations.
Negotiations, Supplier Relationship Management skills
Must have high ethical standards and Able to plan, prioritize and organize self and others
Good IT skills, MS Office applications
Strategic thinker – proven ability to translate strategic plans into action
Excellent interpersonal skills – builds good relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Good verbal and written communication skills in English; Afan Oromo Language is a preferable.
Demonstrated ability to lead a team
Ability to manage a complex and demanding workload with flexible behavior
Commitment to humanitarian principles and action
Location: Chiro

2: Cashier

Skill and educational background

Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Accounting.
At least 2 or 3 years of experiences respectively preferable in NGO environment respectively.
Skills and Competences:

Proven experience in cash management preferably in development organizations.
Ability to work with financial software. Knowledge of AX dynamics ERP system is an advantage.
Excellent IT skills, MS Office applications.
Well-developed interpersonal and team skills and proven ability to be flexible in demeaning situations.
Good written and spoken English and local language (Afan Oromo) is Mandatory.
Good communication, public and interpersonal relations, sympathy with the aims and objectives of Islamic Relief. Commitment to the humanitarian principles and action and trustworthy.

3: Driver

Skill and educational background

Complete of secondary education, 3rd grade valid driving license,
2 years of previous related work experience with non-governmental organizations.
Required Skills/Competencies

Excellent oral and written communications in English.
Must reside in and share experience, language and/or culture of the community to be served.
Good written and spoken English and local language (Afan Oromo) is Mandatory.
Well-developed interpersonal and team skills and proven ability to be flexible in demanding situations.
Basic working knowledge of IR operational area.
Sympathy with the aims and objectives of Islamic Relief.
Commitment to humanitarian principles and action.
Commitment to IRE equal opportunity policy.
