Islamic Relief is an international relief and development charity founded in 1984 with its headquarters in Birmingham, UK. As well as responding to disasters and emergencies, Islamic Relief promotes sustainable economic and social development by working with local communities – regardless of race, religion or gender.

The office officially started its operation in Ethiopia in 2004. Islamic Relief Ethiopia (IRE) is operational in the Somali Regional State with a base office in Hargelle, Elkere, Bare and Dekasuftu, Afar Regional State; Ewa and Gulina, Oromia Regional State; Borena, Chiro and Meayso and an additional operational office in Addis Ababa.

1: Cashier

Skill and educational background

Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Accounting.
Work Experience

At least 2 or 3 years of experiences respectively preferable in NGO environment.
Skills and Competences

Proven experience in cash management preferably in development organizations.
Ability to work with financial software. Knowledge of AX dynamics ERP system is an advantage.
Excellent IT skills, MS Office applications.
Duty station: Addis Ababa

 2: Water Technician

Skill and educational background

· Diploma in water technology electromechanical works or other related field of studies.

· Minimum 3 years’ experience in implementation of Water Work projects, preferably emergency WASH projects in humanitarian, NGO, or Government organizations.

Skills and Competences

· Proven knowledge of water works, construction management and emergency response activities.

· Computer literacy in MS word, Excel and CAD.

· Fluency in Afari language is a Mandatory

· Good in written and spoken English.

· Previous relevant experience in the INGO sector is an asset

3: Hygiene and Sanitation Officer

Skill and educational background

University Degree – Rural Sanitation, Environmental Health Science, Public Health, Health Education and Promotion, Community Health or related field relevant to the position is preferable, with a minimum of 4 years relevant experience at this level with International Agencies or NGO’s.
Knowledge of one or more of the following: public health, health or hygiene promotion, community development, education, community mobilization.

Excellent knowledge of area of work and increasingly contribute to team planning.
Successfully manages conflicting priorities.
Strong influencing and networking
Takes responsibility for own work and delegated project/processes (including some leadership).
Anticipates problems and regularly provides solutions
Excellent ability to speak and communicate with good spoken and written English skills.
Fluency in Afar language is Mandatory.
Good computer skills (particularly Excel, Word and databases).
Ability to work in stressful conditions, with limited access to services, sometimes insecure and limited movements.
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and in a highly results oriented work culture.
Knowledge, skill and experience in participatory methods for community development and mobilization.
Team-working skills.
Attention to detail and excellent numeracy.
Good communication skills
Good leadership skill

4: Emergency WASH Officer

Skill and educational background

University bachelor’s degree in water resources management, Hydraulics, Environmental, or any other related discipline with hand on WASH experience and training with at least 3 years relevant experience preferably who works in NGO setups.

Skills and Competences

· Demonstrated skills in design preparation, bill of quantities, and specifications.

· Proven skills in project planning, design, implementation, and M&E.

Proven management and people coaching, mentoring, and supervisory skills.

· Good communication skills, ability to convey complex information in a straightforward manner to target communities and staff under his supervision.

· Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relations with multicultural and multi-ethnic teams, including working with partner organizations.

· Experience in training and capacity building and ability to carry out training needs analysis and develop capacity building, Mentoring, and coaching skills.

· Ability to work in hardship and longer hours and good skill of data collection.
