United Nations Economic Commission for Africa(UNECA) invites qualified applicants for the following job positions.
1: Human Resources Intern
Skill and educational background
Applicants to the programme must at the time of application meet one of the following requirements: (a) Be enrolled in, or have completed, a first degree or graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher) is required (b) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent). No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme. However, Your training, education, advanced course work, or skills should benefit the United Nations during your internship. (C) An academic background in adult education, human resources management, or management studies is desirable (D) Prior experience with survey design, analyzing data, and presenting data is desirable (E) Excellent computer skills with Microsoft applications; experience with Moodle would be an advantage. Work experience is not required for this internship programme.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Daily responsibilities will vary and depend on the individual’s background, including but not limited to:
• Support the update and improvement of the O-Induction on our Moodle platform.
• Support the language center with the monitoring and documenting of the language class attendance.
• Contribute to the “Career and Learning Stop Shop” – coordinating schedules, and collaborating on career support offerings.
• Contribute to conceptualizing a skills inventory to align subject experts with mentees for informal internal mentoring processes.
• Reviewing and providing input on the design of HR dashboards and compilation of statistical data
• Providing administrative support to ongoing projects
Languages:
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship. Knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage.
