Haile Manas Academy is seeking a highly motivated and skilled IT Officer to join our team. The IT Officer will be responsible for managing and maintaining the school’s information technology infrastructure, ensuring that both staff and students have access to reliable and efficient technology resources.
ICT Officer
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in on-site needs assessment, installation and maintenance of HMA’s telecommunication and IT equipment.
- Ensure that the equipment under his/her responsibility is in good working condition, by regularly inspecting the hardware and installations. If required, arrange prompt repairs or replacement as necessary according to established procedures.
- Monitor and maintain the LAN, Network servers, Printers, LAN points, AP’s, and switches etc. to prevent faults from occurring.
- Provide Technical Training on the equipment available within the campus to users, make sure they are able to use the equipment.
- Talk to staff/Faculty or students through a series of actions face-to-face, to help set up systems or resolve issues.
- Provide support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports. Check the data center security and keep it as the standard.
- Set up new users’ email accounts and deal with password issues.
- Give help on the procurement process of IT equipment (As required).
- Ensure all the users’ computers/IPads are installed based on the companies’ policy.
- Perform scheduled computer and peripherals maintenance; temporary file deletion, maintenance of computer for the staff and coordinate with faculty to maintain the student’s machines.
- Basic administration of windows servers.
- Work continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate).
- Rapidly establish a good working relationship with students and teachers.
- Conduct electrical safety checks on computer equipment.
- Help in setting up the help desk in the campus together with the proper system to make the support giving process much more efficient and effective.
- Tech Team leader; created within the community where problem-solving and learning platforms where recruits from within the community develop technology-related skills sets and knowledge (Hardware and software, programming, robotics etc…)
- Perform other related duties as required.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position with a standard workweek, including occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
- The role may require on-call support during critical periods, such as exams or school events.

About You
Qualifications & Experience
To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:
- Over 3 years of experience in Information Technology
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in IT support or system administration, preferably in an educational environment.
- Strong knowledge of computer networks, Cisco devices, Google products, operating systems (iOS, Windows, macOS, Linux), and common software applications.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with students, staff, and parents.
