The Opportunity
The position holder will be responsible to provide support for Influencing & Communication Department and will play a critical role in shaping the organization’s advocacy strategies and initiatives to influence policy and decision-makers at national and regional levels. This role is designed to advance Plan International’s mission of promoting children’s rights and equality for girls through targeted, evidence-based advocacy, strategic communication, and robust stakeholder engagement.

Safeguarding Children and Young People (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI)
- Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), ensuring that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.
- Ensures that all staff in the unit/function/department are properly inducted on and understands their role in upholding Plan International’s safeguarding and GEI policies;
- Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in day to day work.
- Ensures that Plan Ethiopia contributes to Plan International’s global efforts to ensure safeguarding and GEI, including making sure that relevant reporting and data are submitted
About You
- Education: A BA/Master’s degree in Political Science & International Relations, Law, Development Studies, Communications, Social science or a related field. Advanced training in advocacy, public policy, or human rights is an asset.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience
- Experience in humanitarian context and preferably working within an international NGO or multilateral organization
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful advocacy strategies and campaigns at national or regional levels.
- Strong experience in policy analysis, lobbying, and engaging with government officials, donors, and civil society.

Safety and Security Manager
The Opportunity
The position holder will be responsible to support the implementation of the PIE’s strategy through overall management and oversight of safety and security activities for the country operation and providing operational guidance in managing safety and security related risks throughout Plan International Ethiopia (PIE) staff and resources, which includes developing safety and security management plan, conducting safety and security assessments, and developing standard operating procedures, capacity building and training, as well as both introducing and maintaining sound safety and security management structures within the organisation.

MERL Coordinator
The Opportunity
The MERL Coordinator will be responsible to implement a functional M&E system at project level in response to emergencies. She/he will work closely with partners and will support the Field Emergency Response Manager/coordinator and the program teams with technical oversight and direction from the Senior MERL Coordinator on all monitoring and evaluation needs across implementing areas. The MERL Coordinator will support the provision of program staff at Plan and partner organizations with the information and training to capture monitoring metrics regularly and efficiently.

About You
- Bachelor Degree in fields such as Social science, Economics, Statistics or related fields.
- Practical knowledge on MERL and at least 5 years of relevant professional experience in this area in an NGO environment, preferably in humanitarian sector.
- Practical knowledge of establishing & MERL system and implementation, including development of different feedback receiving mechanisms and forms, feedback recording database, production of regular accountability report.
- Excellent skills and demonstrated experience of using MS Office and ICT.
- Experience in humanitarian contexts is preferable.
- Language: – Fluency in English language is essential and Knowledge of Afan Oromo is a requirement.
