1:Human Rights Manager (Internal/External)
Location:Addis Ababa, Addis Ababa
Job Summary:
The position holder will have specific responsibilities for our Human Rights programmes, developing training programs, and driving value additionality initiatives across the company.
Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
Monitoring the implementation of human rights instruments
Assessing the human rights risk of Safaricom Ethiopia
Developing mitigation strategies, policies, and impact management plans;
Coordinating and implementing policies and programs on human rights
Supporting on human rights reporting and stakeholder engagement efforts;
Addressing human rights in the supply chain; and supporting SFET Human Rights Steering Committee.
Directing capacity-building efforts on human rights in the country or region of assignment for SFET staff and partners.
Developing relations with government officials, partners, suppliers, etc., and advising them
Undertaking fact-finding missions and drafting reports

Plan, organize, and execute human rights projects and programs effectively and within given timelines and budgets.
Monitor and evaluate the impact of projects and programs on human rights and make necessary adjustments to ensure desired outcomes.
Develop and implement performance indicators and reporting mechanisms to track progress and achievements in human rights initiatives.

Job Requirements
LLB in Law with at least 5 years of experience on Human Rights or related field
Experience developing and implementing human rights programmes
Self-starter and motivated individual with a pro-active attitude, willing to get involved in all aspects of a new business with a clear mission.
Effective management skills, strong attention to detail, organizational skills and the ability to make well-reasoned, independent and transparent decisions within short timeframes.
Excellent interpersonal skills, able to build strong relationships and communicate clearly and effectively at different levels and across functions (both internally and externally).
Capable of dealing with board, senior management, shareholders, staff and third parties with confidence, independence and authority.
Experience in managing a team and in complying with reporting requirements from investors will be an advantage.
